Good location but hotel has seen far better days (threadbare hall carpeting, etc.). Main complaint is $12.95 wi-fi AND IT CYCLES FROM NOON TO NOON! That is, if checking in during the afternoon, your $12.95 (plus taxes, of course), only buys you access until noon the next day! Thought there would be free access on the computers in the lobby--but... more

I travel to Austin quite frequently on business and usually stay at the Renaissance. The staff has always been very pleasant and the beds are super comfortable. I agree with other reviewers that the televisions that are not on the concierge floors need to be upgraded (concierge floor has LCDs). Getting to the concierge floor is iffy at times, so... more

I was recently in Austin and stayed at the Renaissance hotel in the Arboretum! As a native Texan I can assure you I have had my share of flat farmland landscapes, but the Texas Hill Country was breath taking. I forgot I was in Texas. The Renaissance hotel off of 183 HWY and Capitol of Texas 360 was in the... more

This seems like a nice hotel but there are a few issues that leave me short of being able to recommend it. On the positive side; the staff was very friendly, the layout was fine and the bed was really comfortable. On the downside, there's plenty to give you a heads up about: First, as another reviewer stated, the TVs... more

Recently returned from a convention at this hotel and found it lacking in many ways, As other reviewer mentioned, being charge $12.95 a day for Wifi that then only worked in your room not in the meeting rooms was adding insult to injury. The onsite restaurant was poor as I ordered salmon and when it arrived it was raw in... more

Was at this hotel for a convention, and it has a nice lobby, and a huge indoor courtyard with all the rooms facing the interior. The problem is, for the two nights I've stayed here, they've had loud parties in the ballrooms facing the courtyard, so you hear every loud yell and every note of the band in the rooms.... more

The hotel is nice, but its a bit insulting to be charged 12.95/day to log onto the Wifi.. Heck, its free at the Super 8. Also, they don't offer a breakfast which has become about standard these days. The on premisis resturants are rather expensive and slow. more

This property is a really nice one. My only problem is in having to pay $13 a night for WI-Fi. Once upon a time maybe, but Wi-FI has become rather common and is free in most cases. This is a premium priced property and yet they are going to "nickel-dime" you over WI-Fi? At the price of $13 a day... more

My husband and I love the Renaissance chain--it's the one we prefer to stay at or JW's. The Austin Renaissance is a very nice hotel: beautiful lobby (Starbucks too!), very open floorplan, and beautiful grounds. The only drawback for me is the hotel I believe was a takeover of a different brand, perhaps an old Stouffers or Double Tree. However,... more

The hotel is located on the grounds of a mall with lots of other surrounding shopping and a nice spa. Rooms are comfortable, and the views of the Hill Country breathtaking (especially at Sunset). Staff was courteous and very helpful when deciding what Austin attraction suit your interests. more
