If you want a southern experience, this hotel might fit the bill. While the rooms are very tired and musty, the rest of the hotel made it worth the stay. The meal was excellent... my wife sent her hlf of our steak BACK to be made "well done." BUT she ALWAYS wants it WELL DONE; so it's a common complaint. Since the steak was perhaps 2 inches thick; would wonder WHAT if it were halved (for the two of us) by making it THINNER!!!??? Has your chef tried that? NOT... more

We just returned from a weekend at the Martha Washington, and it was a superb experience. The hotel and grounds were beautiful, the staff warm and friendly, service exceptional, and the food delicious. The room was quite cozy.
