I really like this hotel, the location is really good, not everybody wants to stay in Pelourinho but I think it is wothwile. I consider this area much more authentic than other areas in Salvador where there are only hotels and nothing more to see around. The owner and the reception lady weren't that friendly as other reviewers have described, or approachable based on our one-week encounter! Those girls worked in the cafe were even less so! When we have been hassled on the street in the evening on our way to the bus-terminal carrying our rucksacks, the owner simply just stood by and watched expressionlessly...... more

The owner and staff at this hotel are wonderful ! The staff spoke a little english, but with my broken portuguese we made it work.They were so gracious, patient, and friendly and quite frankly made my trip to Salvador great.
