We stayied at Ondina Aparthotel for four days - I was attending a conference on Othon Palace, next door, and brought my family to enjoy a bit of Salvador. Ondina Aparthotel is far from be a luxury hotel, but it´s quite comfortable. Reserving through internet, we got a 2-room apartment with two bathrooms, living room and kitchen by R$ 225 = US$ 130 / day (four people occupancy with breakfast included) - a good deal, considering the supposedly discounted prices for conference attendees at neighbooring Othon.

The rooms were large, with good illumination and ventilation; both had air conditioning, as well as the living room (which is a must in Salvador). Altough comfortable and well kept, the apartment could receive some renovation: the decoration and furniture is a bit old. Also, we found our apartment a bit noisy since it was facing the avenue (ocean-facing apartments certainly are quieter, and the view should be amazing; but they charge ca. 25 % more for them and we did not... more
