This street is full of value pousadas and i came to this one because of the price, having started off more up-market near the Jorge Amado house. This little hotel was clean and quiet. However, it was beastly hot in Salvador and the A/C didn't work well. The owner was in Italy and he left the hotel in the hands of people who couldn't fix the problem, and who didn't speak English. This pousada is in a superb location just a few minute's walk from Pelourinho. Ricardo and Marcia and their staff were helpful, gracious, and highly professional.
