Had it not been for the fact the only places to stay in Antigo are of the motel class, we probably would have not considered staying at a Super 8. Both my husband and I have had less than satisfactory experiences with roadside inns and we are usually the type that likes to stay at premium accommodations. What this Super 8 showed us was that the manager has more to do with the quality of stay than the name.
We pulled into the motel on a Wednesday afternoon and booked a second floor non-smoking room (the last available) with two double beds - the only kings left were smoking rooms. We paid $60 a night which included continental breakfast of fair quality (toast, muffins, fruit, cereal, hard-boiled eggs), an in-room safe, and FAST wireless internet. Our room was spotless and there were plenty of toiletries that were refilled daily. The receptionists were smiling and helpful from check-in to check out.
