I stayed at Tantomar for 3 nights (low season rate: R$85). Rooms are indeed clean, comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was also good. You need a car to get to all beaches on Arraial do Cabo. There is a beach within walking distance from the hotel (Praia Brava) but you can only get there on a short period of the month (depends on the tide). My problem with this hotel is that they were doing major construction work on the main building (where we stayed) so it was impossible to get any sleep after 7 AM (!!!!). TV was also not working (could be an issue to some) and the hotel owner doesn't seem to care about getting it fixed soon or making sure the construction workers only start hammering the walls after 11 AM and keep their voice volume down. For this reason, I would not go back there again and would not recommend it to others, unless you can get a major cost cut on the rate for tolerating the inconvenient noise. more
