I enjoyed this place so much I stayed here on two separate occasions. Everything you would like to find and expect from somewhere in this price bracket for Rio was there - friendly and outgoing staff, clean, relaxed, idyllic, convenient and a highlight of Rio, not just a place to sleep.

Conveniently situated halfway up the hill into Santa, opposite Parca das Ruinas, the proprietors and their employees are all genuinely helpful people. Nice peaceful breakfast area, beautiful rooms with balconies looking out over Centro and the Baie de Guanabara, safe lockers and internet access. Great for exploring Santa, heading down into Centro to catch the bus elsewhere either by foot or on the Bonde or simply relaxing in. If you're coming back from a night in Lapa, it's only R$4 on a moto-taxi!
