First and foremost: we heard so many cautions about safety while in Rio. The Promenade is in Leblon which is the nicest neighborhood in Rio. Many families and working professionals. As such we walked all over Leblon at night and never had an uncomfortable experience. Very safe! And, great restaurants and bars around the corner from our hotel. Leblon is adjacent to Ipanema so it is right in the heart of Rio!

The staff was excellent. Spoke good English and was very helpful.

Now, the cons were that the walls were thin. We had noisy neighbors and we were adjacent to the pool so we were awaken early. Also the bed was VERY uncomfortable. I had back pains for 2 days after we left and I never get back pain. It is possible my back pain was from the plane trip but we were business class so it wasn't a horrible plane ride. more
