We had a 5 day stay in Rio during Carnaval this year and found a B&B called Casa Alessandra located near Copacabana beach that was reasonably priced. We found it on a website called http://www.bbbrasil.info/eng/bb.php. We had expected to be sharing with other guests but were very pleasantly surprised when the very beautiful owner, Alessandra, kindly picked us up from the airport and on the ride to Copacabana told us that we would be there by ourselves. Our b&b turned out to be a very cute two storey apartment approx 1.5 kms easy walk from Copacabana beach along Rue Santa Clara. The downstairs consisted of a double bedroom, lounge and dining area with a full kitchen and laundry (no washing machine though). There was also a large balcony. The apartment is on the 5th (top) floor, with a lift. The upper floor had another single bedroom with bathroom and another balcony with a large BBQ.
