Mold in the bath tubs. Dirty and old. No management is on duty mid day. No one helps with changing rooms with A/C dripping. Clocks and desks are missing. What happened to the Intercontinental. Looks like it went down hill. SAD.. More

I stayed here at the time it was changing from Intercontinental to Royal Tulip. I didn't know it was meant to become Royal Tulip but they shoved a note under my door during night three, saying I had to pay because they'd changed ownership. This was despite my staying for two more nights. Still, I knew something was not quite... More

We were booked to stay here for 5 nights but when we checked into our room the carpet smelled of mould and just didn't look clean. The bedding just looked old and overused. We tried to move rooms but they couldn't. Eventually we asked for the blankets to be changed and were told to go and wait in our room... More

We stayed here at the end of a cruise (it was booked by cruise company) and overall it was ok. The major drawback was the location - it's isolated away from the tourist areas and main beaches. It's a 30 Real taxi drive away. There is a fabulous Mall almost next door which is open till 10pm but the only... More

I chose this hotel because of the location in San Conrado. Service is very poor and management on duty ( nov16) would never solve any problem. Tv is probably more than 10 years old and did not work. Frigo bar was out of order. Internet is very expensive and slow, during the night internet did not work. Parking is outdoors... More

This hotel used to be the Intercontinental but now is branded as the premium "Royal Tulip" of the Golden Tulip etc chain. The room I stayed in seemed up to date in terms of furniture and bed. The WiFi worked just fine. A very comfortable room. Unfortunately I did not get to use any of the amenities but my co-workers... More

It was the old Intrcontinental, and seems it stayed the same way...,old. Rooms were a bit refurbished, same old slippery shower, rustier balcony ( could not close the door as it was jammed and totally covered in rust). Wifi service poor, a more than warm gym, not too nice breakfast. More

This is the worst hotel I have EVER stayed at. The service was horrible and the front desk personnel was unfriendly and very unhelpful. Had to pay a ridiculous amount for wifi that was spotty and didn't work half of the time. The salon gave very poor manicure/pedicure service and was extremely overpriced. Rooms were nothing like they show in... More

a rather good location, along a beach and sea front, not too close to Ipanema beach,is more charming at an outdoor look rather than inside the rooms, old dated and to be restored. From its balconies you can have a fine view towards the beach and the Rocina favela.a good quality breakfast is available.the front desk peolple are slow reactive and sometimes unpolite.It... More

I was their for three nights while working in Rio. Stunning views and convienient to everythign I needed to get too. Don't like paying for internet service like I did at this hotel. Food was okey. Lobby bar was boring with nothing exciting going on. Shower didn't drain very well. Taxi service was very accessable and the drivers were always... More
