Booked this hotel as the last hotel of a 4 week trip around Peru, Argentina and Brazil - and wish I'd booked a different one. The rooms here are so small and have not been updated in ages. When I walked in I was instantly depressed. We had a street view on the 3rd floor and would have been up all night from the noise. This is the best hotel you can pick in Rio. The location is awesome near Arpoador beach, you don't have to cross the street to go to the beach like Copacabana Hotels. Price is very low and rooms are confortable and clean, breakfast is very good too. I recommend it to everyone going to Rio! more

Stayed at the Arpoador Inn in late March 2009. Everything about the hotel was good, particularly the loc ation, except a R$140 service charge, payable in cash only upon checkout. I still do not understand what it was about (it was not local taxes). Nor was it disclosed at the time of booking. more
