Was I at another hotel? My room was spacious and clean and contained all I required. The hotel staff were very helpful and cheerful. Very expensive, room very spacious but in desperate need of modernisation - bathroom particularly bad. Pool area - view excellent but seating needs varnishing etc with poor level of maintenance I also stayed at the Pestana Rio Atlantico - which was a million times better for the same price!! Rio Othon Palace is a rip off. I was told $110.00 a night by hotels.com and then they switched the price on me to R330 per night which if you do the math is $165 a night. I scheduled my room for 2 people but there's a hotel policy that is not mentioned in the Hotel Policies that print up... more

A good spot right on Copa beach with awesome views from the room. We stayed in one of the renovated rooms and it was adequate, clean but as everyone has noted quite dated in style... but that seems to be the norm for Rio ... its not exactly as hip as Buenos Aires for hotels etc...
