Here's the bottom line: This is, at best, a 3-star hotel. (2 1/2 stars is maybe more accurate, but you might catch a staff member in a particularly amiable mood, and that buys them an extra half-star.) First of all I liked the hotel location. It is across from the beach. My room was a bit small, but for the rate I was not going to complain. We clost the hotel mainly because of location...and when we arrived we wernt disappointed. The rooftop views of Copachabana are spectacular! The hotel its self has recently been renovated and decor is quite stylish, however rooms are a little on the small side... Had a nice stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly, the rooms are small but clean and have everything you need. The view from the 13th floor pool and bar is amazing. The pool is more of a plunge but just what you need to cool off. On Copacobana beach but short walk from Ipanema. more

We went to Rio at Aug. 2009. We stay at Orla for two night. The breakfast was very good and outside there is the beach. Hotel room is not big but very clean. more

The location of the Orla (the 'r' is a 'hh' sound in Portugese - i think) is great, though at this time of year that end of Copacabana lost the sun earlier that the rest of the beach. That is no problem though, as after 10mins on Copacabana you will want to head to the peaceful Ipanema or Leblon beaches... more

Hotel is rated 3 stars which is fair - but that is all it really is. Nice rooftop deck with small pool and a decent fitness centre. Great position overall, basically at the end of the Copacabana stretch and close to Ipanema and Leblon....(which is where I would stay next time).
