We stayed here for 7 nights on our recent holiday to Rio. Assuming you wish to be in Copacabana the location is fantastic for the beach/metro/shops but without having to pay beach front hotel prices. Location is midway along Copacabana beach and one street back from the sea front. Obviously you won't get a sea view being a road back... more

The most striking thing about the Windsor Palace is the really faithful adherence to modern architecture --- for the 1970's. The style is not distracting at all, though. We were on an extended vacation and wound up staying in Leblon (Hotel Palladium) when we returned to Rio, as Leblon (and Ipanema) are much nicer areas with lots of shops and restaurants.
