A weeks stay in a working hotel... alot of technicians.IT people in there. I stayed with my nephew as we had tickets for the sambodrome carnival...short journey, 10mins by taxi. The Hotel was clean and friendly staffed... 24 hours a day there was an english speaker available,,,In fact the night manager's English was amazingly good. The breakfast we did every... more

Rio Presidente Hotel is just off one of the most important historic squares in Rio Centro, Praca Tiradentes. I arrived at the hotel at night by taxi from Novorio bus station, it is much nearer the airport than hotels in Copacabana or Ipnemena so the journey is quicker and less expensive. Was charged R$ 162.00 for a R$ 60.00 room. First, I asked if the hotel had internet service. They said that they did, but after I checked in, I find out that it was not working.
