Although first impressions were not bad, there were some glaring hidden faults with the hostel. The inconvenience of having to give detailed directions to all taxi drivers, noise from the outside and inside of the building, and a lack of basic services from the front desk were only minor detractors. What compelled me to write this warning to other travellers was my experience trying to pay for my stay, which illustrates perfectly how unhelpful the staff really were.
The night before my departure, I wished to pay for my stay. Front desk would not allow me to do so. I explained that I would be flying out the next morning and that it would save time for everyone, since there were no other guests at the desk that evening. In response to my request, without making eye contact, I received a hand-wave telling me to shoo off.
