It was acceptable but -the room was very noisy (windows not sufficiently thick). -the hot water in the shower was not working, and although I told the reception they did not do anything about it. -The manager and reception people were not nice at all, and even rude. After a few nights in an uncomfortable hotel for almost the same price in Ipanema, we where really happy we found the new and modern Benidorm Palace in Copacabana ! Friendly staff, breakfast gorgeous, pool, gym and sauna on the roof, clean and spacious room and bathroom and very good price performance ratio (January 2008 right before carnaval)! Last but... more

We were booked into the sun hostel in Rio for carnival last year and when we got there we realised we couldn't stay there. It was filthy, the dorms were tiny, it was massively overpriced and there was no airconditioning. We found the Benidorm Palace by chance and for the same price as the hostel we got a triple room... more
