Overview We just returned from Rio and spent 5 days at this lovely hotel. Beautiful decor, nice pool, really helpful staff. We stayed in three of the rooms - Recamier, Shangai and Copacabana.....the nicest being Recamier as it has wonderful views of Christ the Redeemer. All rooms have big bathrooms and good showers - Copa bathroom is a little smaller... More

What a beautiful, funky place. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The decor is just stunning. The view is amazing. A little out of town but taxies were there within minutes and it meant you had a better view and more chilled surroundings as a result. Highly recommend. They let us stay in our room with no extra charge... More

La Maison is a small hotel or guest house at the posh end of Rio. Its also located just below one of the largest favelas in Rio, but that doesn't seem to be a problem. There isn't much nearby, but it’s a quick bus or taxi ride to get to restaurants, beach etc (or a longer but manageable walk if... More

we loved this hotel. the guy who runs the place is the best part. super helpful and just a cool guy. rooms are nice with style. only downside is that rio is spread out. this hotel is in the hills. it's not necessary close to everything. if you're looking to just hang at the beach, get a beach hotel. if... We stayed at la masion for 5 nights. It is a really special place to stay in Rio away from the hustle and bustle of the main touristy areas. It is very easy though to take a cab to anywhere in the city. Jacques the owner and his wife were very very helpful and went beyond the call of duty... More

My girlfriend and I recently stayed at the La Maison as a little something special to celebrate our 4 year anniversary. The Location The location of La Maison is in Gavea district, which is relatively far away from touristy things, but close to a bunch of really nice restaurants, a fancy shopping mall, and the botanical gardens (well worth seeing).... This hotel/guesthouse is an absolute gem and I thoroughly recommend it to anyone seeking a unique experience in Rio. The owner Jacques, his wife and staff are exceptionally welcoming and have thought about every detail they can to make everyone's stay memorable. They went out of their way to accomodate our meal request when we arrived late having booked the... More

We stayed at this place after a few days at the Sheraton Barra hotel in Rio for work. The Sheraton was souless and we wanted to see more of Rio. Staying here made our trip - the place was gorgeous, full of character and individuality - exactly what I had hoped for. We stayed in Copacabana and it was stylish... More

This was the splurge of our recent trip to Rio and we had high expectations given that we also stayed at two excellent B & B options which were significantly cheaper, O Veleiro in Botofogo and Casa Beleza in Santa Teresa. The good thing was that the extra cost was justifiable as this was a wonderful hotel which exuded style.... More
