What more could you want in the middle of Rio? The bar on the roof was fantastic. As a solo traveler I found it even easier than usual to meet others. As the bar closed at 12pm almost everyone then went on to a suggested location from the hostel to continue the night. There is a club next door which... more

Have to disagree with the previous reviews. Stayed there in august and found that the room we reserved was quite clearly a converted cupboard. i know that hostels are budget accomodation but this really wasn't acceptable. Having since looked over the reviews on the hostelworld booking site seems like we weren't the only ones unhappy with this room. Also the... more

Don't think twice before choosing Stone of a Beach as the best hostel to stay in Rio! I had a great time there and the opportunity to meet young people coming from all around the world! It's a very cozy place and they have a great barbecue party for their guest! It's worth it! more

I visited Rio back in April 2007, it should not have taken me that long to write a review about this great hostel.
