This is a medium size hotel that belongs to one of the largest French chains. It is well kept and the staff (as most everywhere in Gramado) is courteous and gentle although only a few can speak other language than Portuguese. The rooms facing the valley have a superb view, but those facing the high-way that is in front of the hotel are comfy but noisy. The swimming pool is indoors and heated which makes sense for the cool weather in the region. The hotel is about a mile from the city center and, if you are not with a car, it is a good walk. Breakfast is very good as it is in most hotels in Brazil. Compared to other hotels in the area, The Mercure Gramado is a very good deal, since it is new, has good facilities and its own charm. Oh! do not miss the restaurant! Great food! more
