The hotel was clean and had beautiful grounds. The staff for the most part did speak english, and the food was very good. You have to take a taxi if you want to go anywhere, however every night I ate at 5 star restaurants and never traveled more than 20 minutes. There is a very strong security presence throughout the grounds.
The service was top notch, I would definately stay here again. I was disappointed by the river running across the street as it was so polluted you could see trash floating on top of the water - however this is very common in Sao Paulo and you can not avoid the pollution problem.
