I was there in 2/2009 visiting my girlfriend [who lives in Sao Paulo]. I picked this Best
Western because here in America, Best Western [the last I remembered unless they've
changed] was considered 1 of the best hotels around. However that seemed to be a bit
different in Brazil. If you needed to use internet service, they didn't have computers & you
had to bring your own laptop with you to use the service. In regards to phone service, you
had to put down a certain amount of money in advance to cover the phone service & if you were over the limit, you had to return to the front desk to put in another amount of money so you can use the phone service again. Also, if you made a toll free call [i.e. an 800 number], you were BLOCKED from making ANY calls until they restored your phone
service. My advice is to get calling cards that you can use a local number [which is what THIS hotel only allows]. Also when asking for toilet paper, it's best to ask them more... more
