We booked this via the tourist office. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was comfortable. The hotel was very pretty in a traditional Bulgarian way. It was a short walk to the fortress to watch the light show in the evening and convenient for the old area of town. The bed was quite comfortable and the bathroom / wet room clean and large, although the shower head kept aiming itself at the light! Interesting choice of bathroom freebies - soap, shampoo, shower cap and condoms. Free wireless. Breakfast was good in the taverna / garden area at the front of the hotel and we also enjoyed a few drinks and a snack in the taverna area in the evening, at about 10.45pm, when many eateries were already shut. Taverna prices very reasonable. more
