My wife and I had just arrived in Veliko Tornovo and were searching for the guesthouse where we'd booked accomodations. We stopped for directions outside of The Loft and the owner (?) came out and began trying to convince us to stay at The Loft. We declined politely since we had other accomodations and he continued to badger us, bullying us more aggressively each time we said 'no'. At last he walked away in a huff, and when he had gone only a few paces he turned back to us and called us "Stupid (--) Americans", simply because we did not want to stay at his place. I would never set foot in the establishment of someone so unneccessarily rude. more
