The owner and the manager of the Sanctuary have treated us like family every time we come to Battambang, which is usually twice a year. Courteous, polite, wanting to help, and earnest are their trademarks. Sometimes trainees do show their inexperience, but always in the most gentle manner. I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else in Battambang.

This is a small querky property, which probably merits the description "boutique". It is not luxury to western standards, but it tries hard. The service was well meaning but amateurish. Great hotel with a number of spacious, luxurious bungalows set in a beautiful garden, 5 minutes walk from the central market in quiet area. Beutiful rooms, nice pool and restaurant (very quiet in the evenings, so for meals we went into town).
