A groups of us stayed at the Hotel Rattanak in Battambang Cambodia. It is a modern hotel - maybe finished in early 2006. It has a large restaurant popular at night and during the day. Staff speak Khmer, English and Chinese. The staff were very helpful, the hotel was very clean. All rooms have aircon and are spacious. Beds comfortable and made with crisp sheets.

For a hotel in a part of Cambodia which is not on the tourist trail, it is excellent. Cost was about $8-12US per night, and was better in cleanliness and facilities than hotels at 4 times the price in Phnom Penh.
