This hotel is currently undergoing major renovation work, which my travel agent, Aquamotion, failed to tell me. A new wing is being built at the front and extensive refurbishment is going on in the other wing. Cement mixers, jackhammers, the full works. I would estimate that there are at least another 9 months to go before it is habitable if you want some peace and quiet. In addition to that the hotel is old and tired and the whole place needs refurbishing. I was moved to the Costa Real Hotel, which is also centrally located. This is a good standard hotel, tastefully done. The food in the restaurant is of a high standard and not overpriced. Good atmosphere and friendly staff. If you dont speak Spanish it is a bit hit and miss whether you will be understood, my Portuguese failed miserably!
