Me and two friends stayed at Sumaj Jallpa in the middle of August and definitely liked. Despite it's a little out of San Pedro's main street, it's only 10 minutes walk away from it. So location is fine!
Staff was very friendly, especially the owners. Breakfast is really nice (even though not included in the daily rate). Beds were fine and all very clean.
We basically had two minor issues:
1) when we arrived, they didn't find our reservatoins, but fortunately there were some rooms availble and we managed to stay;
2) we had some minor issues to make our showers work (we had the private bathroom), but the problem was not cold water (the water was hoooot), but pipes seemed a little neglected, so you had to learn how to manage the shower regulator. But once you got it tammed, no worries: perfect showers!!!
