Unfortunately San Pedro de Atacama does not have enough hotels just yet, so that some decent competition could teach the staff at Kimal a lesson about customer service. The Good: Great location off the main street, nice rooms. The Bad: WAY over priced, terrible customer service, no wifi (the claim on their website is a plain lie) The Ugly: Upon... more

We stayed at KIMAL for a weekend and were surprised to find out that at weekends apparently all competent staff is off. Since the rooms had no safe we asked at reception if they could put away some cash and valuables for us. The girl said they did have that facility but she had only tried once to work with... more

We stayed at the Kimal for two nights in April. We had a bad experience. On the second day we discovered a mouse in our room. We complained and while the receptionist was very apologetic he could not furnish us with an alternative room, as the hotel was fully booked. Instead we were promised a discount. We didn’t want to... more

Very nice rooms but the pool and hot tub are very cold. The breakfast buffet was very good and the dinners were excellent. A little pricy for one night, but very clean and quiet. more

Very comfortable hotel, but it was summer and the windows are small, so the room was too hot even at night. But the worst thing was that they locked the minibar before we arrived at the last night and said that they always do this for people don´t consume anything and leave without paying. For a expensive hotel it was... more

The hotel was fine with a good location and helpful staff. Breakfast is OK and the hotel will supply packed food if going on tours. Rooms are a bit dark and can feel stuffy. However this is a problem in a desert. more

We liked the Kimal, their restaurant and the place around the small pool to relax - although we had one of the smaller rooms. Our stay started with a positive surprise as we arrived around 9:00 in the morning and our room was ready - although offical check-in time was still some hours away. The room was a bit dark... more

My wife and I stayed here three nights. The room was cozy, large enough, but a bit dark. The towels and bedsheets were of excellent quality. The food wasn't great, just average, and rather expensive for having lunch or dinner there. Breakfast was good. It is not a cheap hotel, but the town is expensive, so this hotel is good... more

We like Design and decor with stones, trees and a small pool that temporarily hide the dryness of the surroundings We don't like Noise of other guests chatting loudly in their verandas The breakfast room is extremely small, and if you are unlucky with the timing you will eat cheek to cheek with a group of noisy old chaps fighting... more

Very good location in the centre of San Pedro but on a quiet side street so not noisy. The staff were very friendly and the rooms, although quite small, were very attractive. Breakfast was disappointing although we would recommend lunch/dinner in the restaurant. Price wise, it's not great value for money compared to European or American hotels for example, but... more
