We stayed one night (originally planned for two) in mid-November with friends, having booked their suite and three regular rooms. We were told this was the best place on the mountain and looked forward to seeing the sunrise and enjoying a local meal. What we didn't count on was visiting Huangshan in the midst of a snowstorm. The scenery was... more

We stayed in this hotel for one night as many other tourists while visiting the Yellow Mountain. The location of the hotel cannot be better, probably one of the best all over China. But don't expect anything else from the place. The worst: the prize!!! Extremely high!!! Since they know you don't have many choices over there to sleep, they... more

Well how shall I put it in short... The only reason this hotel scores poor and not terrible is because of its top-location. We stayed here one night as part of Yellow-mountain two day's hike (+ elevator) including sunset and sunrise watch. you can imagine we did not much use this over-validated expensive facility (no value for money) for it's... more

Stayed for 2 nights in May. As reported previously the hotel was a little tired and would benefit from a refit but it wasn't without a 70s charm and was clean and comfortable enough to feel happy there for a short stay. The room we stayed in was quite small and without a view but we were in there only... more

I was staying in this hotel, but outside, in the "HUTS", I paid 680Y... the huts are OK, the only inconvenience is that they are quite noisy. also the shower did not get very hot... all in all not a bad option to stay there in the mountain! the restaurant of the hotel is truly expensive... but we have to... more

It's worth some discomfort to stay up on the mountain - and that's exactly what this ungracefully aging hotel offers. Our front building room enjoyed a nice view. Unfortunately, the hotel heat was turned off and a damaged window latch let chilly air into our decently sized room. We discovered that if the tea water heater's top was left open,... more

hotel built in 1958, and looks like it. But, like the other reviews, you are dealing with a hotel that is almost literally perched on a cliff, where everything has to be carried up there. Hotel is pretty crummy, but rooms didn't seem dirty. Ask for a room with view of the mountains. On the positive -- Huangshan is stunningly... more

Its hard to believe this but this monstrous hotel near the top of these low mountain peaks. The views from our hotel windows were out of this world. So gorgeous the whole day long with wafting clouds and peaks that pierced through the fog. It would make a nature lover cry out with joy and is everything you could imagine.... more

About 30 min walk from cable car, old hotel, renovated in 2008, said to be 4 star but most likely 3 star. Best hotel at Mt Huangshan. Close walk up steps to view sunrise. Rooms small and beds very hard even for China. They don't turn on heating in rooms till 7pm presumably to save power. Small bathroom. Restaurant Chinese... more

Conveniently located up Mt. Huangshan with less than 10 minutes walk to view the sunrise (weather permitting), this hotel offers very basic rooms which are nowhere near their own 4-star rating. For foreigners travelling not with a tour (like us) we had to pay RMB900 per room (about USD 132) while a local would only pay RMB720. The rooms we... more
