The hotel overlooks the river and is at the end of tunxi 'old street' which although packed with shops selling tourist odds and ends, is really atmospheric especially in the late evening as the crowds thin out. The room we stayed in was simple but pristine with beautiful traditional chinese furniture. The breakfast is a fixed menu with tasty dumplings... more
Best experience in China! The English speaking receptionist was very sweet and kind. Rooms comfy and clean. Reliable and plentiful breakfast included. The hotel driver is awsome. We packed in a day trip to three of the nearby historic villages including Hongcun, and two smaller, much less visited non-UNESCO villages (one had an ancestral hall where some of Crouching Tiger... more
We stayed there for 5 nights, this place was perfect. The rooms were big and comfortable. Our room didn't have the renovated bathroom mentioned in other reviews but the one we had was fine. The service is very good in all parts of the hotel. more
My husband and I, and another couple stayed here for two nights. It was 300 rmb (about $40 US) for a double room and includes a Chinese breakfast. It's a good place for the price and location. Tunxi is a great location as a base to explore nearby ancient towns of Xidi and Hongcun. Qiyun Shan (Mountain) is also nearby... more

Remember that this is not a 5 star hotel, so don't... more

We spent a few hours just strolling down the Old Street and enjoyed seeing all the people and shopping too of course. A must eat place: on the... more
It was meant to be a one night stay that turned into 3 extra days. Best hotel we discovered during a China wide vacation in terms of value, cleanliness and friendly staff. They even take credit cards! It is better than the Novotel in Beijing albeit not as plush but it had all the basics sorted. We paid 240 RMB... more
