I agree with other reviews that the location is perfect if needing to stay near the airport, although the area is not one I would recommend. There are no resturants and the area seems depressed. This is a good hotel for an airport stay. It is the closest hotel to the birmingham airport and i found the shuttle to be reliable and quick. So I stayed here for a conference and have to say I was very pleased. This Clarion Hotel had a great staff(from when I made my reservation and when I checked-in and checked-out). It's silly, but those whom travel know that a staff can make or break a hotel stay. This one would very good. But they weren't deal breakers.... more
