Holiday Inn Express Inverness was a disappointment. The breakfast was poorly stocked. The workout room had three machines, two of which were out of order. The worst experience was the bathroom. I come to Birmingham quite often and have stayed at this property now at least 3 different times. Checked in at 10:00pm. Left at 5:30 am to take the wife for cancer surgery. When I got my CC statement, the HI had padded it by $100 bucks. When I called to complain, the manager said they charged me for a microwave oven that they claimed was missing from my room. Total nonsense. more

The building is off from the main highway, making it quiet. The decor is art deco -- which is somewhat unexpected. It's a charming place that feels like a small older hotel that has been updated with new decorations. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. more
