If you want to see the non-splendor of communist era decorating and architecture in all it's retro-unfabulous non-glory, than the lodging sites of the plitvice park hotels - and especially the Bellevue, are where it's at. The Park and the lakes are absolutely beautiful, and the hours spent walking through them are truly wonderful. However, the Bellevue Hotel really is very, very basic. Okay for 35 Euros per room you arent going to get luxury but the thin walls meant that every time the people in the room next door spoke or moved, we heard them.... more

Fortunately for us the Plitvice next door was booked up. The hotel was very clean and pleasant with a view of nothing but trees.
