This quiet and lovely boutique hotel is now at the top of my list of favorite places. I spent 3 nights here and loved the morning breakfasts of fresh and local fruits, homemade croissants and crepes (pancakes). In fact. of all of the breakfasts we had for our 3 week stay in Croatia, Kastel was the only hotel that served... More

We liked this place very much! Located in the pretty village of Kastelir, not far away from Porec, Motovun, Groznjan, Umag etc. it offers peace and calm(which is quite needed in the pick season around here). The owners are splendid people, we felt at home. The restaurant is great, we recommend it! We stayed in the big Suite for 2... More

Overall we had a nice stay. After reading numerous AMAZING reviews on trip advisor, we had higher expectations. Don't be confused if you can't find the hotel-the outside picture must have been photoshopped because it looks a bit different. Positives:clean room, breakfast, shared balcony, village, friendly man running hotel communicated to us in English and German the best he could.... More

My husband and I stayed here one night and found the room cozy, but slightly on the small side. The place was immaculate and dinner was delicious (peppercorn steak - juicy & tender with a zing to it!). The house wine was very good. Breakfast was tasty and satisfying. Location is handy to visiting hill towns of Istria.

We stayed at Kastel for a week after some friends of ours recommended it, since they are spending their vacations there for several years now. So, we knew it is a special place...but it was more then that. It was home away from home, the family that runs it made us feel more then at home. We stayed in the... More

My husband and I recently stayed here for one night. It is located in the sleepy village of Kastelir which is about a 10 minute drive from Porec. When we arrived (at 3pm) our room was not ready which was a bit disappointing but after a quick drink at the nearby bar, we were able to check-in. Our room was... More

I stayed in Kaštel Pension for 5 nights last week, and I miss it so much! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, the place is very well maintained and the food is incredible! Breakfast is a three course adventure of local food that I looked forward to every day. They make their own olive oil, wine, jams, juice, and... More

My husband, myself and our nephew stayed in this hotel for 2 nites from Jun 21-23. We were in a duplex suite with 2 bedrooms with private bathroom on the second floor & the dining room on the G/F. Ailin and her parents have done a great job to maintain this 200 year old house. The rooms were very clean... More

The hotel is placed 15 minutes away from Porec downtown. Rooms are well-decorated and quite comfortable. May be too small but it is more than enough for one night. Other than the accomodation, the restaurant is really incredible. We enjoyed both the dinner and the breakfast. They are producing its own wine and most of the breakfast products are home... More

My husband and I stayed at Kastel at the end of August and we loved it there. It is just close enough to Porec to be convenient, but it was also easy to get to the hill towns. It is also close to beaches, though we did not go to the beach. We stayed in the two bedroom suite, which... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Kaštel Pansion & Restaurant is a 300 years old traditional Istrian house, built in the characteristic Mediterranean style, which blends wood and stone to great effect. It is situated in the centre of the village, very close to the church. The building has been renovated and restored, but the old stone walls and the wooden beams from the 18th century have been left, offering you a holiday in Kastel under the historic roof of an original Istrian house. ... more   less
