After an unfortunate stay at another hotel/hostal a block away (and reviewed separately, see my other reviews), I walked down the street and found this hostal. This hostal/hotel is a great option. Rooms and hotel were basic but reasonably modern, especially for a smaller town in Ecuador. They used a general motif of the rugs/weavings/tapestries being sold in the streets and in the market in Otavalo. Staff was pleasant, though spoke little to no English. Room was clean and water was hot for showers. Room also included cable television, with at least 1 or 2 English speaking stations. The best part is I received a better quality room for less money than my other experience (and I'd expect you can too). Save those dollars for bargaining on the street for goods (and if you bargain with the many vendors on the street, you can find better deals). Hotel does not include breakfast but is available in the restaurant in the hotel (or nearby) for an inexpensive price.
