this hotel is convenient for the nariz del diablo. riobambo doesn't have much to see or do but the tren dorado is centrally located, reasonably price, and clean. a single was $12. more

This little hostel is a great bargain if you're in Riobamba. It has lots of rustic Andean charm even though it's a downtown hotel, and its authenticity keeps it from seeming tacky. Our room and bathroom, though simply appointed, were spotlessly clean--we could have eaten off the floors--and the housekeeping service was excellent. We found the staff to be helpful... more

Big, new, clean rooms with private baths...helpful staff, great breakfast for $3. It's a bit more pricey than other Ecuadoran hostels ($14/person for a triple, if I remember correctly) but worth it for the great location and cleanliness. more
