We stayed at the Siwa Villa for a week in March, 2011, just after the Revolution. As was probably true for many people during the Revolution, our friends and family were misled by the 'hype' over the demonstrations in Cairo to think of Egypt as unsafe. They were wrong. Egypt was a magnificent place to be at that time. And... More

We have just returned from a fabulous 6 nights at Siwa Villa. After a long journey from Cairo the Villa was perfect in every way, location, views, relaxation and friendly staff. The Villa provided us with comfort and the ability to explore the local town and desert. It's a great place for couples and familes. More

A lovely villa right next to Shali (the old citadel) which at night is really stunning from the roof of the villa. Well furnished and very comfortable we had a most relaxing stay. A unique feature is that it has it's own donkey cart and driver, Mohamed, who also looks after the villa and brings nice flat bread every morning.... More

First off, if you have any hesitations about going to Egypt now, due to the events on the news, rest assured, that you will be in the very best hands while there. I did not feel for even one moment that I was in any danger; so no reason to cancel plans or even change them. Our travel dates were... More

There is no way that this review can do this Villa and its' staff justice. The Villa is simply amazing. The staff also goes out of their way to make your experience an amazing one. The Villa is able to sleep 10 people in several different rooms. It has one full bathroom with an amazing shower and fixtures. The Villa... More

Some suggested we were slightly crazy. Two women taking four children into what seemed to be the middle of nowhere, a desert town in Egypt, 50km from the Libyan border. But what a wonderful place this is. I have rarely felt in a safer place with children, the Siwans were so welcoming and kind. Siwa itself is an amazing oasis... More

The villa is very nicely set up and very comfortable. Lots of places to relax in and hang out. Great kitchen and good store in the fridge. We bought camel meat from the market and cooked at the villa. The hosts are very attentive and friendly. We took a tour of the desert with Duncan, the owner, in his 4X4... More

We have been to Egypt many times and have been lucky enough to travel widely. This was the first time we had ever visited Siwa (pronounced Seewa). After a long (about 12 hours with 2 stops) and rather boring drive from Cairo we arrived in the dark. Our car twisted along sandy, narrow lanes and then we were there. The... More

You often read reviews and think how that really reflects the place. I can honesty tell you that this was the highlight of 3 weeks in Egypt. If you're really looking for a get away, a great host and hostess, a cozy and comfortable experience and one of the most memorable ways to spend your days..this is the place. Duncan... More

I loved this place. This was my favourite of my 23 trip in Egypt - and I stayed at some very expensive 5star properties. Excelent location (short walk to the market, restaurants, coffeeshops), cosy athmosphere, quiet. And the Ridgley family could not have been more helpful. No doubt - when I go back to Siwa I will definitely stay at... More
