Just returned from a trip to Moorea where we stayed at the Hotel Kaveka for 3 nights. We were very pleased with our choice. We prefer smaller, local places rather that mega resorts that look the same everywhere. Greg, the owner is active in the management, very personable, and wants to be sure guests have a good experience. He reserved... more

Just returned from a delightful vacation in French Polynesia - stayed for 4 nights in Moorea at the Hotel Kaveka. As I did the research and made arrangements myself (w/o the help of travel agents) I must say that some of the reviews made me a little aprehensive prior to arriving. My fears were w/o merit. First of all this... more

OK, so I see that people are acknowledging that this is a budget situation which is a good thing. Knowing this, however, I was SHOCKED to see the condition of the room. My husband and I did a tour of the islands with Moorea as our last stop. The Hotel Kaveka was lower in price but by all other accounts,... more

Very lovely family owned hotel with 25 bungalows. We went to Moorea for 12 days and stayed the whole time at the Kaveka., even going so far as to change our other travel plans because it was so comfortable. We had a beach front bungalow on a corner of the property that gave us a bit of privacy from prying... more

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Kaveka for one week 3 years ago; it's been a while, but we still have happy memories of it. On our very low budget we had no AC or TV, but we were in Moorea! Why would any healthy young person want either of those things when staying at on of the most... more

We really liked our stay at the Hotel Kaveka. The best snorkeling was right off the shore of the hotel property. The rooms were clean with a fridge and air conditioning. The owner of the hotel shuttled us to and from town and to church. Very nice. Good food! We would stay there again in a minute. more

Do not always go by a brochure. Very hot and No fridge - if you wished this you paid for it dearly. Would never ever go here again more

It has been over 3 years since I visited Hotel Kaveka, and the few disappointing reviews left here made me feel like I must defend the poor place. Don't get me wrong - it is for the extreme budget conscious traveler. I believe my boyfriend and I spent $700 per person for airfare and hotel, so we knew not to... more

At first glance you think "what a bargain" and then you get there. Everything is a la carte, including air conditioning!!!! The "continental breakfast" consisted of a baguette and jam. Juice, pastries, water, and fruit were extra to the tune of $15US. Robbery when you saw the canned fruit and coffee cake they were offering. The juice was not fresh squeezed. We... more

Hotel Kaveka, is a Budget class hotel, with a budget price tag. It proves the old saying, you get what you pay for. The rooms are clean. The water for showering was rarely warmer than the air temperature. the beach is small and is shared with the locals. The harbor is often home of cruise ships, which is good if... more
