We enjoyed our stay at the Almond Tree. We were there for 2 nights in the hottest month of the year (March). The staff was really friendly. The power went out the first night a few times and after it did this they moved us to a new room with more reliable power. Their restaurant wasn't open for dinner during... More

The hotel has 3 levels of accomodation, priced differently. We had the medium one, taht costs 100 cedi (~$50) wich is a rather high price in Ghana. The room was clean, but the furniture seemed old and the entire look of the room was dull. There was no AC or hot water (usually available at this price or lower price... More

Made reservations based on Trip Advisor reviews after not being able to get reservations at places recommended by friends. Wondered a little why I could get a room there and not other places but that all disappeared when we walked in. It truly is a little oasis in the heart of Key West. While close to Duvall St it is... ...but then, we had a hard time finding good value for money in Ghana -- not sure why. The owners (transplanted Jamaicans) are friendly, and the hallways are decorated with fascinating artifacts and articles about the African diaspora. But the room was unimpressive and dimly lit, no hot water or TV reception, the breakfast uninspired, the location disappointing (far from... More

Coming to Ghana for the 1st time was an experience in itself but the creature comforts made us feel like we were at home. Myself and my family visited this guest house for 5 days as we did not want to stay with family (my husband is Ghanaian and I am Jamaican) last month. This guest house is inviting and... More

What attracted us to this place with the menu of Caribbean and African cuisine. We had planned to stay for just a few nights but ended up there for almost a week. Such a pleasure to be there, the staff were great and the management made us feel like this was home. It was such a lucky find and the... More

We expected Almond Tree to have a garden at sea, but you cannot reach the sea. We were in the Nanny room and the room was cosy and clean. The room is near the hall and you can here the staff all the time talking and laughing. Wich is 6 o'clock in the morning a bit disturbing. . But still... More

There was an air of tumbleweed about the hotel but perhaps that is slightly unfair as we were the only guests. We had not realised before booking that the hotel is really out of town and although you can see the sea from the hotel, there is a stretch of scrubland in between the hotel and the sea. Some of... Don't waste your money here. The management will try to nickel and dime you wherever they can (no concept of customer service and good business practices). The hotel is dark and depressing, and more expensive than other guest houses in the area (try the coconut grove bridge house--20 cedi less and much nicer). It is far from the beach, and... More
