My wife and I, along with another couple, stayed at Windermere for 2 nights.....and what a stay!! We were in adjacent Planters Villa rooms - the rooms were basic but spacious. Had Valley room, somewhat limited view but nevertheless clean and comfortable. Very good service with fairly basic food. Take note that the free Cardamon walk is actually a rather boring 4km trek. Do drive around the area as the tea plantation views are stunning. more

Windermere seems to be trying to give the guest a home-away-from-home feel. In lots of ways this works but I think a little bit more in the way of hotel service - ie giving some resort information would be helpful. The estate is mostly through the renovation work. The bungalows are smart with a large shower room. There was no choice of menu but the food was excellent and the service second to none. The peace and tranquility of this former Tea estate make it a wonderful choice. more
