What can I say, amritsar may boast the magnificent golden temple but it provides some of the worst accommodation in India. Another perfectly useless recommendation from lonely planet (typical). Rank rooms, nowhere near the prices advertised in LP, this kind of dive does the city no favours. To be avoided at all costs unless you like damp dirty rooms!

I stayed in a simple single room with just a bed and a small cupboard. For the price (170 Rupies) it was absolutely ok and kind of clean. Breakfast was ok, the staff was friendly and I felt comfortable. If you don't expect too much, this is it.
