The place is a bit hard to find the first time... Nothing special, really cheap, and walking distance to the center... I stayed in the single room and was very small and cold (according with what i payed).... Also the shared bathrooms were not clean... The staff was nice and they have a good terrace (with nothing on)... But i... More

We found this location through Lonely Planet. I had email contact with a very nice and helpful man before arrival. (Who i did meet after arrival). The man on duty was not friendly or nice. He quoted us a different rate from the email. The rooms are large, high ceilings, very worn and basic. The rooms are clean. Very acceptable... More

What can I say, amritsar may boast the magnificent golden temple but it provides some of the worst accommodation in India. Another perfectly useless recommendation from lonely planet (typical). Rank rooms, nowhere near the prices advertised in LP, this kind of dive does the city no favours. To be avoided at all costs unless you like damp dirty rooms!

I stayed in a simple single room with just a bed and a small cupboard. For the price (170 Rupies) it was absolutely ok and kind of clean. Breakfast was ok, the staff was friendly and I felt comfortable. If you don't expect too much, this is it.

There is nothing special about the Tourist Guest House. If you don't mind walking it's nice to be away from the golden temple. Tourist guesthouse is not in a very good location just beside an overpass. Solo females might not be comfortable walking home at night. The place is secure though with a gate and an attendant 24 hours a... More

I picked Tourist Guest House because it was cheap and out of the Golden Temple area but still within walking distance and also near the railway station. The place look a bit old but somehow charming, the room was spacious but everything else is just so average. My room wasn't that clean still have some foot prints on the bathroom... More

We chose tourist guest house because it was one of the cheapest listed in Amritsar. On our arrival we were told that the room was more expensive than the one we had asked for over the phone and the man seemed quite grumpy and not welcoming at all. Ordering food in the very small restaurant was difficult as no one... More

First the positives about Tourist Guest House. It is cheap and serves the purpose of a place to sleep provided your cleanliness standards are low. The problem I encountered was that the staff were ridiculously rude. They ignored me (as if I was invisible) after I had asked a question on more than one occasion. When I suddenly lost my... More

We booked a double room and a room for three and on arrival were shown two double rooms - they then shifted in a campbed which was basically a foldable table and dumped a questionable mattress on top which clouds of dust appeared from. After spraining my back lying on it, needless to say three of us shared the double.... More
