On arrival I tried to move to centre city because the hotel is 2 Km far from Mamallapuram and it is not easy calling a taxi because the phone is not available (no signal). People at the reception explained that in case of cancellation I would have lost my money, so I called the travel agent in Chennai and he told me government hotels don't allow any refund. So,I put up with it and they showed the room but I wasn't satisfied and I visited other rooms but all of them always were moudly, dump, wet, dirty and the ones on the upper floor flooded, so I returned to the first choice claiming for an extra cleaning that I supervised. The fare of Rs1750 about Euros 33 is quite expensive compared to the standard they offer, more I've been surcharged of Rs420 of Luxury Tax for 2 nights stay.
On the other hand, the location is beautiful: the swimming pool is very nice but the sundecks are old and there is no towel service; the kinder garden is conveniently equipped; the restaurant serves good... more
