If you are looking for the resonable price, comfortable and lovely resort with the hospitality of resort's owner in Ayutthaya (the ancient city), Thailand, I would like to recommend you to "The Old Palace Resort" located in the Northern part of Ayutthaya or in the area of Wat Na Phramen. This is a small resort with the comfortable facilities. the... more

If you go to Ayutthaya, this is the place where you have to stay! For business or holidays I used to go to 5-star hotels worlwide... and I can say that I felt even better at The Old Palace Resort! Of course, you won't get the facilities of a luxury hotel.... but the charm of the place, the quality of... more

The incredible family that runs the Old Palace Resort were the best people we met on our extensive trip throughout Asia. The owner is an awesome cook and they made us Thai food for breakfast at our request, then she told me how to make her specialty Green Curry Chicken. Then they took me to the market to find an... more

I really should have written this review before and I owe it to the exceptional staff to give a glowing report. Yes it is true what others have said, the rooms could do with a little tender care, but the whole experience of staying here more than makes up for this. Excellent value and truely fantastic staff - nothing was... more

This is a guesthouse, you get a old room which urgently needs renovation. It could be a super nice hotel if they invest some time and money to renovate the rooms. The restaurant was ok. The staff is extremely nice and helpfull. more

Well we arrived at the old palace during a storm with extremely heavy rainfall and they were experiencing a power cut, which was quite amusing. We were shown to our bungalow and given a candle. We hadn't had anything to eat so one of the non english speaking staff took us to a supermarket. Sign language usually worked! The room... more

Manager of this place is exeptional friendly. We wanted to visit a site outside Ayutthaya and he brought us and picked us up just for a little fee. Arranged a tuck trip at a time that fitted us better than the time of the bokking agency. Really helpful. Place is a little outside all the heart of Ayutthaya, but that... more

For the price, I don't think this is a great option. It pains me to say so since the manager was so nice, but it's true. The location is inconvenient if you want to walk places because you have to go along winding roads with heavy traffic and no sidewalk. There is nothing special about the grounds. There is just... more

I booked a chalet (they only have one in the entire place) but ended up in a bungalow, which we had to pay extra. THB790/nite is quite expensive for such a place. Nice setting, rooms were clean but furniture was quite old and worn. The breakfast provided was just 2 slices of toast with coffee/tea. Parking was available which was... more

The Old Palace Resort is a small guest house conveniently located in the North of the Ayutthaya within walking distance of the old ruins. It is situated off a quiet street away from the more modern built up part of the town. Rooms are individual chalets and very comfortable with their own balcony. They offer very good value for money... more
