Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stay away from this place! Spiders & cockroaches in the room and in the bathroom, no hot water, no wifi, stains on carpet, on walls, on the bed headboard, holes in the bed sheets... you need to know anything else?

The hotel was recommended at the railway station by people saying that they worked for the Tourist Office. It was probably not completely true. The staff was not very friendly, the room did not look very tidy, the bathroom was basic, the hotel did not offer breakfast. And it was not even cheap! While visiting the historical sites, I saw many other places, from guesthouses to hotel, which should have been a better choice.

Place is very old and needs to be updated or refurbished. Must have your own transport to move around town . Not enough signages to locate the hotel as the entrance is a very small alley . Many mosquitoes at the lobby and common areas .

We stayed at this "hotel" last week. It is easily the worst hotel I have ever stayed in anywhere. The foyer is totally lacking in any form of air conditioning/fan. Look to your left and you will see a gym which might, on the face of it, give the impression of an hotel with decent amenities. It is impossible to sit in the foyer area as it is like a sauna. The Internet is spasmodic during the day and non-existent in the evenings. The quaint lift runs on the exterior wall but , like the lounge, has no form of cooling/ventilation so it is like stepping into an oven. The carpet on the lift floor must surely be the most worn on Planet Earth. There is complimentary coffee in the morning which is served by a surly old woman. This hotel was clearly of a good standard but has been allowed to decline and it looks like there has been no expenditure on upkeep for many years. I stayed there because my wife wanted to stay near the night market by the river and she had chosen it herself. I bitterly regret not having read the reviews others had written about this place. Pleases do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else. This place is absolutely dreadful.

The Thanes 'hotel' in Ayuthaya is disgusting. It's is completely run down. Stained. Dirty. The first room we were suppose to have was covered in stains, had a dirty towel, the carpet was crawling its dirt. The whole atmosphere was stale and cold. We asked to change rooms. The second room absolutely stunk of stale pee, in fact, the whole corridor did. Old discoloured wallpaper was falling off the walls. It seems the 'cleaning' staff just change sheets or leave them on from the people before. We had to leave after an hour. Frustrated. Nowhere else to go. Couldn't research as their Internet was really poor. Never go here.

Too many insect inside room. Air condition smells not so good. It's near to relics, but there are only shops. Restaurants are too far. But what to expect at these prices. Stuff at this hotel is pleasant, but only with very basic english.

Grungy old hotel. Probably once was nice but has been ‘let go’ as often happens in the hotel trade. Now it is probably best suited to be rented by the hour.
