We spent two nights in Papillon in Ko Lanta on our round-the-Thailand trip. We were welcomed very nicely by the owners, who are two nice European women, and they showed us the room, which looked quite good.
The rooms are actually okay for a short stay: there was an A/C, hot water, electricity and a fridge but no TV and no real shower (just a room with a toilet, sink, shower hose and a hole in the floor).
The main problem was that the room was not very clean, it had some smell and lots and lots of ants. I don't know how we spent the first night but for the second night we bought a repellent in 7-11 and sprayed all their paths and small holes they came from. After 2-3 sprays we could kill all of the ants and celebrated the victory of humans.
The restaurant was probably the reason why we chose Papillon - it is just great, very relaxing and comfy, all in that hippie style, with very good food. A bit expensive, however. The restaurant has free wi-fi but you have to pay for... more
