We stayed at Sri Lanta Feb 2008. I am writing this review quite late, however, the reason why I've decided to write it now, is cause we have booked a second trip to Thailand and we are going back to what we loved, Sri Lanta!! The place is overpriced, not because of the facilities necessarily, although they do need renovation that has not occured yet. The main reason is the extremely inadequate service, not only relative to the price, but also relative to the fact that this resort is located in Thailand, a country well known for its hospitality and top service in high end... more

Sri Lanta is one of the more upmarket hotels on the island, it is a three star and I was told most hotels are three star on the island with one five star. Sri lanta is at the quieter,picture postcard ,end of Lanta island and has managed to avoid ,so far, the fast encroaching,concrete,mass tourism. The resorts land is obviously a prime developers site ,and it is only time before it too, has rows and rows of battery hen style apartments bunged on it.Right now, it is resisting this and remains a beautiful... more

We wanted to stay somewhere, for a few days a little special. The rest of the accomodation on our trip was to be good...but on a budget. The Sri Lanta was all we had hoped. Really nice. We showed up as walk-ins as we were in Lanta, and wanted a nice place for boyfriend's 40th birthday. Whole resort is quite stylish, in a wallpaper magazine (concrete, wood, water) kind of way. Second visit, still love the public areas, old spa area has been converted to very trendy bar with daybeds etc. But rooms still very dark (everyone complains about this, why can’t they sort that out?). Service levels are hopeless, especially at breakfast; no one is in charge or seems to care, hotel was very quiet but that shouldn’t mean it’s... more

When we first went to Sri Lanta in December 2004, we were absolutely delighted by the service, the zen-atmosphere, the beautiful flowers and the always-smiling staff. We met and spoke with the German owner who was really proud of this place. Everything looked so perfect there.
