From the butterfly strewn walkway to and from the bungalows to the hammock on the verandah, we just loved the Save bungalows. Mr Save ( I think my husband and I made this name up, but it has stuck) has about 30 or more bungalows with varying amenities and varying prices. We picked a 1 bedroom bungalow with hot water shower and air conditioning which worked out at about 1200 Baht per night. There was also tv and fridge in our room, both of which worked just fine. This is very basic accomodation - the toilet needs to be flushed manually with a jug of water (bucket and jug provided), and all furnishings are well worn, although clean, but was a tranquil haven in Koh Tao. I suspect this is more a place for backpackers rather than couples on holiday, but we visited Koh Tao a year ago whilst staying at the Sensi Paradise and fell in love with the Bungalows.
They are walking distance from the pier at Mae Haad, which is a definate bonus if you want to avoid being ripped off by a taxi...
