The first thing I can remember of this hotel was their manager, a wonderful friendly man who speaks very good English. The receptionists should learn how to speak English and they are hard to understand. The location is also a disappointment, too far away from everything and no transport at the hotel, you have to walk to the highway to... more

What a gorgeous place to land up for a relaxing break in the middle of a tour. Only one night unfortunately, no time for massage. Rooms in separate bungalows, really posh decor in Thai style. Mozzie repellent provided tells a story, but it doesn't work - bring your own DEET. I had the lovely swimming pool all to myself in... more

We really enjoyed the setting of this hotel. When you check in request room 1 to 4. These are right on the lake and are prettier that some of the other rooms that we saw there. The showers are neat with glas domes and the little verandah is nice place to relax. The grounds are pretty with lots of little... more

I am not a critical or fussy person, but I was not impressed with this hotel. I was really looking forward to it from seeing pictures of it on their website before going, but it did not live up to my expectations. Our room was small, smelt of damp and the bedding was actually damp. The bathroom was not overly... more

Stayed in this hotel for one night as part of a tour of northern Thailand. The hotel is lovely - the rooms are individual cottages decorated in a traditional Thai style. The bed was comfortable and a mosquito net was provided. There are so many mosquito’s around the hotel which is all open plan and we spend several minuets trying... more

A "tour group" property that would likely not attract us if travelling independently. The setting is very nice, the pool is large and clean. The rooms are adequate, although the beds seemed to have foam mattresses which tended to fold a little. Evening and breakfast buffet were adequate. All in all the setting might not be worth the sacrifice in... more

We stayed here for one night in late december. The gardens are lush indeed but have a slightly abandoned feel to them. The restaurant by the river (sunset) has a lovely setting but food is the worst we had in Thailand and we were attacked by mosquitoes. As for the room, we had a luxury room which was lovely except... more

The Lampang River Lodge really exceeded our expectations. Our (deluxe) room was very spacious, looked like a small Thai cottage and was located on a small island. What a pity our bed wasn't that comfortable. For dinner we had the buffet which was very delicious. The day after we missed the breakfastbuffet (it was only 08.30!). Instead they served an... more
